Balcıoğlu Selçuk Ardıyok Keki Avukatlık Ortaklığı (“BASEAK”) advised Anatolia B.V. (“Anatolia”), a subsidiary of Tiryaki Agro Foods Industry Co. (“Tiryaki”), Turkey’s leading agricultural products exporter, on the sale of 25.58% shareholding in Sunrise Foods International Inc. (“Sunrise”) to Hassad Holdings Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Hassad Food, Qatar’s leading investor in the food sector.

Tiryaki, founded in 1965, is one of the most important sector player in Turkey in processing agricultural products. Tiryaki expanded its operations in Turkey and around the world with production and warehousing activities in 20 facilities, importing from 25 countries and exporting to 80 countries.  Sunrise, founded in 1997, is a Canada based company and the world’s largest supplier of organic grains and oilseeds.

BASEAK team comprised of Galip M. Selçuk, Yasemin Saris, Yasemin Hotan Tanyol, Arzu İnoğlu, Ayşegül Şifaver, Sena Mutlu and Ceren Işıklar assisted Anatolia with respect to the Turkish law matters.  For the English law matters, Istanbul-based Dentons partner Nadia Cansun led the team working on the transaction.
